Why Mingos?

 

There are many club options in the area and we are different in many ways.  Each club offers different things and finding the right club is very important.  Mingos isn't for every lacrosse player.  Here is what makes our program special.

Coaches: We never have parent coaches.  All of our head coaches have varsity level coaching experience and take a lot of pride in coaching our club players.  We are the only club in the area that has varsity level coaches for every club team.  They love the game and they love teaching it and they make it a lot of fun for the girls. All of our college player coaches came up through our club as players and loved the experience so much that they wanted to give back to the program.   

Travel:  We do not have any over night tournaments.  Our longest trip is up to Sacket's Harbor.

Cost: Our club is very reasonably priced.  We are approximately half the cost of other clubs and when you add in the cost of traveling out of state the savings is even greater.

Our Players: We attract great kids.  They are fun and want to make new friends.  They love playing the game and want to get better.
Over the years, we have expanded outside of the Finger Lakes and have had players from Canandaigua, Churchville-Chili, Mercy, Victor, Fairport, Pittsford, Greece, Webster, Wayne, Waterloo, Marcus Whitman, Mynderse, Newark, Midlakes, Pal-Mac, Geneva, Gananda and Penn Yan.

College Recruitment: Each summer, our players are seen by well over a hundred college coaches throughout the season and we take a very active role in the recruitment of our players. If a Mingo wants to play lacrosse in college, she will play.  We currently have many players playing in college at every single level: JUCO, DIII, DII and D1.
